Reel Therapy offers guided fishing trips from kayaks! We fish a variety of waters and can bring our boats just about anywhere you want to fish, fresh or saltwater. Now we can hit the places we always dreamed about, where the other boats and fisherman can’t go. Kayak fishing is a combination of paddling, wading, surf fishing and exploring. Many times we are using our kayaks as a tool to reach a spot, get out and wade or fish a sedge bank or island. Overall, you tend to fish slower and more deliberately, covering the water much more thoroughly than with a power boat. Catching fish out of a kayak is a blast, especially when you hook into a big one and it tows you around!!

Please note that we offer our kayak fishing service to experienced anglers only. The personalized, one on one experience that we provide on our regular boat charters is more oriented for those just starting out. Yes, we can design a beginner fishing trip for you and your guests, but you really need to be able to handle casting, knot tying, and fish landing, (all while paddling) on your own. Our guides are always nearby to assist and photograph, but the real satisfaction comes from doing it yourself!

For saltwater fishing, we fish many of the same hotspots we hit on our boat charters. Raritan and Sandy Hook Bays as well as the Shrewsbury and Navesink Rivers for top notch Striped Bass, Bluefish, Weakfish or Fluke.

For Freshwater fishing, we’ll take you to some great backwaters and go for Largemouth/smallmouth Bass, pickerel and other species depending on the season and the waters. Catch, photograph and release is encouraged on all of our trips!

If you have a favorite fishing location that you’d like to fish by kayak, just let us know. Our fleet is portable and comes to you.

We use kayaks specifically designed for kayak fishing. Yes, we use sit on tops for all of our fishing, especially in the salt. We have Several Sit on tops to choose from, Including the new Prowler 13's from Ocean Kayak, Wilderness system's Tarpon 160 TI, and our "old school" favorites, the Scupper Pro TW.

Kayak, paddle, life jacket, Rod/Reel, lures* and flies* are included. Although we do provide fishing gear of all types, you are encouraged to bring your favorite tackle along. Additional paddling equipment (i.e.; splash gear, etc) is available to rent.

Our Kayak trips are designed just for you and your guests. Most of our trips are 1-3 anglers and average about 6 hours. You are limited only by your imagination. We can do mini tournaments, mother ship type trips, etc.
